Let's get some energy going in Norary Crary!!

This restaurant is called Norary Crary, located in front of Takegawara Onsen.

As soon as I entered the restaurant, I heard up-tempo music from the 1980s, and it was as if I had stepped into a different world. The restaurant is large enough to seat about 12 people, and the bookshelves are lined with spice and curry recipe books! As a curry lover, I couldn't help but pick up a few of the books and peruse them. The male owner of the restaurant was a true intellectual, very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Asian cuisine, and answered all my questions.

And this time I ordered a thali and a chai! My overall impression is that the curry at Norary Crary is much spicier than at other curry shops! It's not a gentle curry, but a stimulating curry that will leave you feeling completely energized when you leave the restaurant.

Three types of curry, vegetable, lamb, and chicken, onion achar, samosa, yogurt, basmati rice, chapati, and papad, all on one plate, are so gorgeous! What caught my attention was the yogurt. On top of the yogurt there was salted black pepper. According to the owner, black peppers are originally soft, and if you dip them in salt, and serve them with honey, you get a nice salty-sweet mixture. This was the first time I had eaten black pepper in its fruit form, and it was very soft and easy to eat.

The three curries were not that spicy when eaten individually, but the more I mixed them, the spicier they got, which is strange.

Norary Crary is a very energizing curry shop, and I highly recommend that everyone try it!
